Vahid Afshari is Lead Materials and Corrosion Engineer at GHD Pty Ltd, Perth office. He graduated from the School of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering, University of Tehran, with a PhD in June 2010. Vahid has over 22 years of experiences in materials selection and corrosion engineering consideration at asset design stage and corrosion management throughout asset life cycle predominantly in the oil and gas industry. Areas of skills include materials selection, corrosion rate prediction modelling, failure analysis, specification of painting, coating and lining system, cathodic protection system design, welding metallurgy and NDT. He has been an ACA member since 2004.
